Oceans make up about 70 percent of our Earth's surface.  There are five main oceans: Pacific, Atlantic, Indian, Southern, and Arctic.  Below are some important facts about the Atlantic Ocean.  Let's take a look.
Greenland, North America, and South America border the Atlantic Ocean to the west while Europe and Africa border the Atlantic Ocean to the east.

Atlantic Ocean
The Atlantic has an S-shaped curve because of the coastlines of Europe, North America, Africa, and South America.

The Atlantic Ocean is the world's second largest body of water. The deepest point is Milwaukee Deep. The surface of the Atlantic Ocean is considerably warm while the bottom of the ocean is nearly freezing.

The Atlantic Ocean is a good source for fishing. It has a wide variety of fish that can be found and sold to the restaurant industry. Other commercial uses include drilling for oil and minerals and shipping goods across international waters to other countries. These countries are situated right along the coast of the Atlantic Ocean.
